Student Business Plan Competition

Innovation and entrepreneurial activity is vital to economic development and societal well-being. Hosted by the University of Alberta School of Business, the annual Student Business Plan Competition is a community initiative designed to encourage entrepreneurship amongst post-secondary students in Northern Alberta.

Alberta Business Family Institute (ABFI)
The Alberta Business Family Institute is dedicated to building a body of knowledge on Family Firms. The institute provides educational programs to assist family members engaged in business; promotes dialogue amongst peers in a supportive and trusting environment; and assists professionals in gaining a better understanding of the challenges unique to business families.

Canadian Centre for Social Entrepreneurship (CCSE)
The Canadian Centre for Social Entrepreneurship works with the business, government and volunteer sectors focusing on the use of entrepreneurship for social good. The centre offers community forum engagements, educational seminars and conducts research activities to advance knowledge of social entrepreneurship.

Centre for Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise (CEFE)
The mandate of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise is to disseminate knowledge regarding the management of family enterprise through research, teaching, and service. The centre holds a special interest in the management of family enterprise in the contexts of entrepreneurialism and internationalization.

Western Economic Diversification Canada (WEDC)
The Western Economic Diversification Canada collaborates with organizations and other levels of government to: increase entrepreneurship in rural and urban communities; simplify the process of starting and growing a business enterprise; improve access to information and financial resources; enhance business skills, management capacity and small business leadership; support the development of networks, clusters and alliances to share knowledge, new ideas & technologies; and to improve access to emerging export markets for small business.
