Double Degree (DD) International MBA Program

The Double Degree program is a special arrangement between the University of Alberta and selected higher-level business schools. These arrangements allow students to earn both an Alberta MBA and a Master’s degree from a foreign institution, all in only two years.

EDHEC is ranked among the top 5 business schools in France and is one of the few business schools with triple accreditation from AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. EDHEC has campuses in both Nice and Lille. Students selected for the Double Degree program will complete the first year of their MBA program at the UofA and the second year in one of the MSc programs available at EDHEC's Lille or Nice Campus. After completion of the 2nd year abroad, and by passing the host institution's exams, students may earn both the MBA from the University of Alberta and MSc from EDHEC Business School. For professional access to the EU, the advantages of a full French degree are obvious.   EDHEC

The EDHEC MSc degrees offered in Nice are:

Finance; Corporate Finance; Capital Markets; Risk and Asset Management; and Management Control

Lille offers MSc degrees in:

Management & Organization; Entrepreneurship; Marketing; Arts, NGO's & Philanthropy; Legal & Tax Management; and Strategic Consultancy

International Business School Exchanges

An exchange will involve trading some of the benefits of home-school familiarity for the in-context rewards achieved from adapting to learning abroad. At all of our partner universities you enjoy tuition fee parity, meaning that you would pay tuition at the University of Alberta while on exchange.  Our School's wide range of exchange partnerships also allows you many customized options. You could plan your studies to involve a summer term abroad, accelerating your progress towards your MBA degree. Some University of Alberta students swap one-term of study in Edmonton for a term of similar duration abroad. By planning with the MBA advisor, you can have the term count towards your MBA degree requirements here at the University of Alberta.

Destination countries include France, Germany, India, Norway, Thailand and Turkey. Click here for more information about international exchanges

International Study Tours

International study tours are a chance for students to travel with their classmates and experience first hand the business environment outside of Canada. Currently students have the choice between a China Study Tour and a European Field Trip that visits Germany, Austria, and France. Both courses are open to Full-Time and Part-Time students, as well as students in the Ft. McMurray MBA program and count for course credit towards your MBA.

**Students can complete a maximum of two international experiences, either study tours or exchanges, subject to the maximum transfer credit allowed by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.  Students will receive funding only once from the School's funding for international experiences.**
