Career Management Training (BUS 504)

• The Career Management Training Course (BUS 504) is a required course that all full time MBA students must take to complete the program.
• Topics covered in this course including Career Management Theories, Networking Strategies, Resume and Cover Letter Writing Skills, Interview Skills, Professional Attire and Etiquette, Personal Branding Strategies, and more.

Individualized Coaching and Counseling

• Meet with us one-on-one, discuss your career interests, learn how to use career management tools and job searching strategies that fit your specific needs.
• Receive tutoring on how to create well-targeted and effective application packages; we will go over your resume and/or cover letter with you and offer cutomized suggestions.
• Get a professional opinion on your interivew preparation, learn about strategies you can use for answering tough interview questions.

Mock Interview Program

• This program is offered by the Business Career Services Office.
• Meet with real employers and practice your interview skills.
• Sessions are videotaped and interviewers will provide you with feedback regarding interview techniques.

Online Job Posting Board (Placepro)

• Accessible to all current Business and MBA students and graduates from our school.
• Login ID and Password are required to access Placepro.

Online Resume Book

• Our MBA students and graduates can post their resumes on our website using the Alberta MBA template.
• Professional looking and easy to access.

Business Card for Students

• The MBA Association coordinates student business cards early in the fall term every year.

CAPS: Your U of A Career Centre

• Operated by the University and located in the Student's Union Building, CAPS offers career planning and work search services for students and alumni.
• CAPS also offer Employer Information Sessions.

Information for International Students

• The Immigration Canada website has a lot of useful information for international students on working in Canada, how to obtain work permits, etc.
