Individual Education Abroad Awards
The University of Alberta Education Abroad Program has just announced a new funding opportunity for students participating on exchanges and other international programs in the 2012/2013 academic year. Valued at $750-$3,750, depending on duration of program, the Individual Education Abroad Awards are open to all undergraduate and graduate students undertaking any academic study, work term, or volunteer opportunity outside of Canada for a period of at least three weeks. This includes all School of Business students participating on an exchange program during the Fall 2012, Winter 2013 or even Summer 2012. I encourage everyone applying for (or thinking of applying for) an exchange during 2012/2013 to apply for this award. More information and application procedures can be found at Education Abroad Programs Awards Page.
The award application deadline is Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Exchange applications do not need to be completed prior to the award deadline, but early application is always encouraged.
BCom Program International Activities Fund
The Alberta School of Business supports student exchanges by providing a $1,000.00 subsidy to all students who go on an exchange regardless of their financial circumstances or destination. In addition, students with demonstrated financial need can apply for funding of $5,000 to support their participation in an exchange. For more information on the International Activities Fund, please visit the Alberta School of Business UG Programs Office site.
Various other destination-specific awards also exist for Business and university-wide exchange programs. Please visit the Outgoing Exchange pages or contact the International Programs Coordinator for more information on School of Business Exchange Programs and potential funding opportunities.
