Imagining Alberta Program

Alberta is putting the 2009 recession in the rear view mirror and heading into another boom period. But important fiscal and economic questions need to be addressed in order to maximize economic benefits for Albertans. Do we have the right balance between expenditure priorities and revenue sources? Can we smooth out the boom and bust cycle by using stability funds? Can good government and well being co-exist? And how have the recommendations from the Report of the Premier’s Council on Economic Strategy factored into the PC and Liberal leadership races? Will they become part of the platform of our next government?

Imagining Alberta explored these and other issues through presentations, responses and discussion from experts within and outside Alberta. If you are a public policy maker, political strategist, academic researcher, or someone interested in public economics and finance, you will be interested in the conference presentations and papers.
