March 20 - Professional Development Session – LinkedIn 101
What is LinkedIn? How can it help you in your job search? For those of you that have no idea what LinkedIn is, or if you've made an account and don't know what to do with it, this workshop is for you! Jen Adlam from Target will go over the basics of LinkedIn and some do's and don'ts for building your online professional network and brand.
Presenter’s Profile:
Jen joined Target as a Campus Recruiter in August 2011 and is located out of Vancouver, BC. Her primary focus is UBC and the University of Alberta, recruiting for both Business Analyst and Executive Team Leader positions. Prior to joining Target, Jen worked at HSBC Bank Canada as a Recruitment Specialist, and also for an independent financial firm as an Operations and Human Resources Manager.
Jen received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English and a minor in Psychology from the University of Victoria, and her Human Resource Management Certificate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

If you thought making your resume stand out for an employer was hard, imagine trying to impress a database search engine. Many organizations now accept applications through standardized online forms on company websites rather than electronic resumes. Jen Adlam from Target will walk students through the process of online applications and share her expertise on making sure you include crucial information and key words that could land you your next interview!

Presenter Profile:
Lisa Kramer is the Canada Campus Recruiting lead at Accenture, a leading management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. She is responsible for leading the company’s effort to source and secure top undergraduates and MBAs for full-time and internship consulting career opportunities in Canada.
During her 15-year career in corporate and campus recruiting, Ms. Kramer has hired thousands of students and seen many changes in how students apply to positions, how employers interact with students and how social media is changing the game. As an effective practitioner of social media, she regularly uses digital communication tools such as blogs and Twitter to share career advice, optimize Accenture’s position as a top employer and build relationships at campuses across Canada.
In addition, she takes the opportunity to continually build her network, connecting with students, campus faculty and recruiting industry peers at numerous events and speaking engagements throughout the year.
Ms. Kramer is an active member of the Canadian Association of Career Educators & Employers (CACEE) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo.
When she is not busy crisscrossing the country in search of top student talent, Ms. Kramer can often be found running, participating on Accenture community teams in support of various charities, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.

It’s that time of year again. No, I’m not talking about spring, or midterms and finals, I am talking about the ICAA’s Get Connected! event. This event includes a panel discussion with five CAs sharing their experiences on the path to a CA designation. This event will leave you with a clearer picture of what the CA designation entails, and where it can lead you.
