Develop your visibility on-campus by participating in industry and career related events and programs. In addition to corporate-sponsored presentations, the office also organizes mock interviews and various seminars on job search skills, resume writing and interview skills. Any on-campus event can be fully coordinated through Business Career Services. The Alberta School of Business has a number of different venues available depending on the type of presentation requested. Arrangements can be made to handle requests for audio-visual equipment, food and refreshments, etc. Costs incurred for catering are billed to you approximately four to six weeks after the function.
Hosting an information session allows you to reach a maximum number of students to talk about your organization. Such events are useful in increasing your organization's visibility on campus. Pre-interview briefing sessions allow recruiters and interviewees to meet in a more relaxed setting than an interview for an initial exchange of information.
If your organization is interested in hosting such an event, please contact Michelle Height (780) 492-2166. We usually require at least three weeks notice prior to the event taking place in order to properly coordinate and promote your event.
The Mock Interview Program is offered in September and January. A mock interview provides an opportunity for students to build confidence and practice their interview skills. Your participation in this program not only increases your presence on campus, it also provides you with a "sneak peek" at potential candidates.
Please contact our office for more information on participating in the Mock Interview Program.
