Neil Manning was born in Edmonton, Alberta. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta in 1967 and graduated from the University of Alberta’s MBA program in 1971.
Neil began his business career at Xerox and worked in various roles of increasing responsibility for eight years. He then acquired his family’s business, Manco Industrial Supplies, a construction equipment replacement parts business in Edmonton, and continued to build the business until it was sold in the early 1990’s.
Subsequently, Neil served as President of Sheridan Equipment, Ontario from 1994 to 1997, President of Strongco Inc. from 1997 to 1999 and President/Owner of Canadian Underground Equipment from 2000 to 2002.
In 2002, Neil joined Wajax Income Fund and continues to serve as the President and CEO. Wajax is one of Canada’s largest industrial distribution and service companies with revenues of approximately $1 billion. It has three divisions with over 100 branches and over 2,600 employees across Canada.
Neil and his wife Susan, who also is a graduate of the University of Alberta, reside in Caledon, Ontario and their son Fraser resides in Alberta. Neil’s personal interests include golf and travel.
