Kim Ward was born in Yellowknife, NWT and grew up in Edmonton. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta in 1975.

Mr. Ward began his career as a pilot for Wardair, but held various management positions through the years. He was Vice President, Sales and Marketing in 1989, when the company was sold.

Mr. Ward founded Interward Asset Management Ltd in 1990 in Toronto, an investment firm registered with the Ontario and Alberta Securities Commissions. The company specializes in small to mid-capitalization companies in the oil & gas and mining sectors. Mr. Ward is on various private company boards.

Kim and his wife, Patricia, have three children, Darcy, Chelsey and Meredith.
