As Deputy Chairman, RBC Wealth Management and Vice Chair, Royal Trust Corporation, Ms. Mitchell is responsible for building RBC’s market profile as well as supporting Canada’s top enterprises and families coast to coast. Her responsibilities include providing guidance, solutions, and integration to key Canadian clients across business strategy, family strategy, and intergenerational wealth transition planning.

Her previous roles at RBC covered a wide variety of leadership responsibilities including Regional President, Executive Vice President - Products, Personal & Commercial Banking and Executive Vice President - Personal Financial Services. Ms. Mitchell moved into these line roles following her assignment as Head of Human Resources where she was responsible for RBC’s Human Resource function worldwide.

In 2003 and 2004, Ms. Mitchell was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 most powerful women in Canada.

Ms. Mitchell is extremely committed to corporate citizenship and good governance. Ms. Mitchell currently serves on several corporate boards: Royal Trust Corp., Royal Bank Mortgage Corp., and Mattamy Homes Ltd.

Community support is also a priority as evidenced through her role as Director, Trillium Health Centre Foundation and Director, University of Alberta Business Advisory Council. In addition, Ms. Mitchell was recognized with the B’nai Brith Award of Merit in 2007.

Previous community directorships include: Director, United Way, Greater Toronto Area, including having served on the Board of Governors and on the Cabinet, Ontario Government project called “Removing the Barriers to Doing Business in Ontario”; Director and Chair of Ontario Centres of Excellence; Chair, Advisory Committee on the Centres of Excellence; Vice-Chair, Toronto Board of Trade City Governance Task Force; Co- Chair Canadian Centre for Diversity; Toronto Board of Trade, and Canada Chinese Business Council.

Ms. Mitchell has a MBA from the University of Alberta and a BA in Economics from Queen’s University. Ms. Mitchell and her husband have two children.
