Barry James

Barry James was born in Edmonton. He received his Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) degree from the University of Alberta, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and became a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants in 2007.

Mr. James began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in 1977 and was admitted to partnership in 1989. He has been Managing Partner of the Edmonton office since July 2001.

Barry is currently a Board member of The Support Network Foundation. He has served as Chair of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Edmonton Convention Centre Authority, the Forest Industry Suppliers’ Association of Alberta and the Edmonton Space and Science Foundation (Telus World of Science). He is a member of the Alberta Chapter of Young Presidents’ Organization.

Mr. James has been actively involved in his profession, serving as a Trustee of the Chartered Accountants’ Education Foundation, President of the Edmonton CA Club, and as a member of the Registration Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
