Dr. Amit Monga, is an active angel investor who has previously worked as an investment banker, venture capitalist and co-founded and sold a US based e-procurement software company.

Currently he is the Chairman & Managing Director of Sarapoint Global, an international advisory firm that assists private and public companies with capital markets positioning. He also holds the Executive Professor of Finance appointment at the Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta. Dr. Monga has previously served on the boards of several venture funds and private companies. Currently, he serves on the board of Multiplied Media Corporation (TSX:MMC) and Alberta Innovates: Technology Futures, an agency funded by Alberta Government to promote innovation in the area of technology. He is also member of the Business Advisory Council at the Alberta School of Business where he has also endowed scholarships to support excellence in capital markets and venture capital.

Dr. Monga has authored numerous articles in Financial Post on the topics of venture capital, private equity and corporate governance. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a major in Engineering Management from the University of Alberta, where his research focused on solving complex reliability based design problems using genetic algorithms. His research has been published in top peer reviewed academic journals.
