Research is the lifeblood of any great university.

The School’s research mission and strategic goal is to be “recognized through our teaching and research as among the top one percent of full-service, policy-shaping business schools globally.”

To this end, the Alberta School of Business is proud to announce that they have been ranked within the top 100 business schools globally by the Financial Times of London. The School ranked 33rd globally for research, 71st for PhD, and 100th for MBA including #1 in Canada for value for money, and #2 for career placement!

Our ranking within publicly funded universities is even more impressive:

  • Our research ranking is 9th;
  • Our PhD program is 35th;
  • Our MBA program is 56th.

Key outputs are papers in leading publications. In 2012, we have published 23 through August with 25 forthcoming.

The School is proud to announce their participation in the Management Research Network's Business Research Paper Series. This paper series comprises abstracts and papers on a wide range of business disciplines: Accounting, Business Economics, Finance and Statistical Analysis, Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Family Business, Marketing, Natural Resources and Energy, Operations and Information Systems, and Strategic Management and Organization. Consortium List of Top Management Journals

Publishing in recognized top journals provides an important signal of quality that is useful in the evaluation of scholarly productivity. This list provides guidance to management scholars regarding what journals are recognized as top outlets for their work. The consortia listing of journals was updated in collaboration with the Universities of Toronto and British Columbia. The list recognizes the widely recognized/elite journals (including top disciplinary journals) as well as other distinguished journals for management scholarship.
