The Program

After a summer break, second year classes resume in August with an intensive week where Edmonton students play host to the University of Calgary EMBA cohort. The program draws to a close with the 10 day International Study Tour in May.

Course Details

The curriculum is designed to be challenging and to ensure that you will be able to take on the leadership role of a general manager. 

Courses are sequenced to first sharpen your knowledge and understanding of the key functional areas of management. This would include important areas such as finance, marketing, and operations management.

From there, the courses delve into the latest in management theory and practices. There is a strong focus on leadership, strategy, and international business. A complete course listing is available below:

Schedule of Classes

The Executive MBA program is designed to further develop the skills and knowledge of existing leaders. The program is structured so that individuals can continue to work full-time and still complete their degree in two years. 

Throughout the two years of the program there are 3 week-long intensive courses and 16 regular courses. Regular courses are held every second Friday and Saturday during the semester. Classes take place during the day. 

Students

Your class will include intelligent, hard working, successful individuals, just like yourself.  With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you will be able to draw upon the rich and diverse backgrounds of fellow students and further your knowledge base.

Executive Speaker Series

In order to build your leadership capabilities, you need to interact with the individuals who are shaping Canada's major organizations today.  Our Executive Speaker Series gives you the opportunity to consider leadership and strategy from the perspectie of a senior executive.  You will interact directly with business leaders who will describe how they tackle the tough issues and share their personal thoughts about effective leadership styles.

Executive Coaching

As part of the Executive MBA, students have access to executive coaching sessions.  These sessions are designed to further enhance leadership skills and improve individual performace.
