Governance Forums and Sessions
The Governance Forums are developed for current members of boards in the private and public sectors and in "not-for-profits," as well as for participants who can contribute meaningfully to the round-table discussion, while learning from the presentation. The Alberta School of Business and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Edmonton Chapter are pleased to present the Governance Forums. Governance Essentials Program:
For Directors of Non-For-Profit Organizations
Presented by TELUS
Reliable corporate governance is what makes good not-for-profit organizations, great. Directors of not-for-profit organizations are serious about the responsibility of corporate governance. Today, directors of not-for-profit organizations are faced with challenges of providing more services to more people - with limited resources.
These individuals volunteer their time, and use their experience to effectively turn strategic visions into measurable results.
The ICD Corporate Governance College, a partnership between the Institute of Corporate Directors and the University of Toronto’s Joseph L. Rotman School of Management, offers programs that educate both experienced directors and next generation directors on current best practices in corporate governance. TELUS has established Community Boards across Canada and in so doing has engaged community leaders to help identify investment opportunities in order to optimize the benefits that accrue to those communities.
