Effective June 1, 2010, Shauna was officially appointed to Executive Director of both the Alberta Business Family Institute and the Creating Pathways for Entrepreneurial Families Project.  Starting as the Project Manager with the Creating Pathways Rural Project in March 2008, Shauna and her team have enjoyed supplying rural Alberta with many courses and workshops designed to increase the sustainability of rural businesses.

With a background in the financial and accounting industries, Shauna began her career in the project and event management field at the Camrose Regional Exhibition supporting the 350+ event days they host yearly.

As partner in an event management company, Shauna was involved in some of the most successful events hosted in Alberta, including Big Valley Jamboree, Stage 13 Rock Concert, Grand Opening of the Alberta Hockey Hall of Fame, Viking Cup International Hockey Tournament, COPA National Convention, and the list goes on and on...

Living throughout rural Alberta growing up, Shauna has a unique understanding of the issues of sustainability and from being a partner in her own family business, she understands the need to readily access further education, information and resources in order for both the family and the business to thrive in our current economic environment.

Judy Manning, Program Administrator

judy.manning@ualberta.ca

Effective June 1, 2010, Judy was promoted to Program Administrator of the Creating Pathways for Entrepreneurial Families project office.  Beginning as Program Assistant in June 2008, Judy has gained a unique understanding of Alberta rural business families.

Working with the CPEF project team in supplying resources such as workshops, courses, and library materials, Judy enjoys contact with  businesses seeking to assist their families and employees as they transition and seek efficient methods to progress.

Judy has worked in business administration for both family and corporate business. In her previous lives, she has enjoyed admin capacities for orthodontic and medical offices and customer support with larger provincial telephone and photocopy agencies. The experiences from both of these worlds have supplied a well rounded understanding of the balances required for businesses to succeed. It is exciting to be involved in a project uniquely designed to assist and strengthen families and their business plans for the future.

As a volunteer, she has served in administrative capacities for numerous organizations from Condo Boards and Block Parents to parent, school and church councils. Judy enjoys travel, painting, reading, fair weather golfing, hiking and shopping locally.
