Job Postings Access

Welcome to the Job Posting Board for the Alberta School of Business!

How to login:

Note that access is currently restricted to Alberta School of Business students (BCom & MBA) and alumni.

You will be asked for the following information: LoginPassword and Access Code 

  • Login - Your login for the first time is your first initial capitalized + your last name with the first letter capitalized + the last five digits of your id number. (ie: Bob Smith ID# 1234567 will login as BSmith34567) 
  • Password - Your password is blank for your first login.
  • Access Code - The Alberta School of Business PlacePro Access Code is uofabus – this will never change    
  • Click the Login button. The next page you see will be the Agreement. To access the site you must accept thisAgreement. This only occurs the first time you login.  
  • The next screen is your Profile page and will prompt you to select a personalizes login and password and to confirm some of your basic details. 
    BE SURE to record the login and password you have selected!
  • You will now have access to the site.

You have access - now what?

You will be presented with the following headings:  

  • My Profile – this is where you will record your personal and academic information.  
  • My Portfolio – this is where you will store your documents including cover letters, resumes and transcripts.
  • My Job Search  – this is how you access the job postings and where you set your Job Preferences. IMPORTANT!  When setting your Job Preferences, you MUST follow all the noted steps (see below).
  • My Interviews – we do not currently use this tool for non-co-op recruitment. Interviews will be scheduled in person through the Business Career Services office or by direct contact with the employers.
  • My Placements & Evaluations – only applicable to Co-op Students 
  • Online Forms & Information
  • Log Off

So how do you get access to the job postings?

In order to view the job postings, there are three steps which must be completed:

  • Complete the My Profile section including selecting a login and password – remember the first time login only works the first time - and providing accurate contact information.
  • Upload a copy of your current resume to the My Portfolio section. This is not optional!
  • Under My Job Search select the types of postings you wish to see. The choices are Co-op, Employment and Volunteer. Note: co-op postings are ONLY accessible to co-op students in good standing.
  • For Employment and Volunteer select All for Academic Unit, N/A for Year and Both for FT/PT
  • For Co-op, select the correct Semester for the Academic Unit and Year for the term you are seeking a work term placement and Both for FT/PT (ie: For co-op jobs being posted during the September to December term for January start, your Academic Unit will be Winter)
  • IMPORTANT! To set your preferences select 'Add New' . This opens a new panel where you can make your selection and then select ‘ADD’. To save changes select ‘Save Preferences’ at the bottom of the Job Preferences tabYour changes will not be recorded unless you follow ALL these steps.

Attention Co-op Students!

 

Be sure to revise your job preferences and complete the Job Search Survey at the beginning of each term to view the new postings. For example if you wish to view the jobs available for Winter 2010, your job preferences should be set to Winter 2010. The survey is available through the Forms page  under Looking for a Co-op Work Term.
